MEASURE YOUR WALKING DISTANCE

It is a universal fact that regular walking (an integral part of exercise) helps you to keep your body fit.

Research has shown that the benefits of walking and moderate physical activity for at least 30 minutes a day can help you:

Reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.

Improve blood pressure and blood sugar levels.

Improve blood lipid profile.

Maintain body weight and lower the risk of obesity.

Enhance mental well being.

How would be your feeling if you could measure the exact distance you walked, time taken for covering such distance, calories burnt etc.?  Sounds good!!!  Yes, it is possible to know all the above by simply downloading an app in your android phone.

All you have to do is just download the free application ‘pedometer’ and install in your phone.  Before you begin your walking, just click on the icon pedometer and press start.  Keep the phone with you throughout your exercise.  The moment you begin walking, it counts your steps and when you put an interruption it pauses.  At the end of your exercise press the stop button.  You can now see the phone displaying the number of steps you put in walking, distance covered in kilometers, time taken to cover the distance and calories burnt.  No doubt this self-analysis would help you to plan/revise your exercise pattern.

                                                Have a healthy day!
