Why Diwali is celebrated?

Diwali, or Deepavali as it also known, is a Hindu festival which is celebrated for various reasons.

The birthday of Goddess of wealth, Lakshmi, her rescue from the prison of King Bali, the killing of Nakasura (an evil demon), and the victory of Lord Ram (according to the epic film ‘Ramayana’) are some of the reasons for celebrating Diwali.
